Biography
Dr. Birgit Vogel is a cardiologist and cardiovascular disease researcher, and Associate Director of Academic Affairs at the Center for Interventional Cardiovascular Research and Clinical Trials at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York, New York. Dr. Vogel completed her residency in Internal Medicine and Cardiology at Wilhelminen Hospital in Vienna, Austria, and an Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging fellowship at Mount Sinai Morningside Hospital in New York, New York. As a member of the Lancet Women and Cardiovascular Disease Commission and the first author of the Commission report, her research interests include a strong focus on sex-and gender disparities in patients with cardiovascular disease.
